From 31 May to 3 June 2018 a joint exhibition of Russian and German artists entitled TRANSITION – on the path to digital transformation will be held at the State Central Museum of Contemporary History of Russia.

The digitalization and computerization of our world and our lives is happening with unbelievable speed. We are in the middle of the "fourth industrial revolution", the digital transformation. Analog is becoming digital. But how accessible is the future to man?

This exhibit will feature paintings, sculptures and installations of Russian and German artists (Hans Rudolf "Ruedi" Giger, Viacheslav Koleichuk, Michael Soltau, Udo Rathke, Vadim Kirillov and Eduard Anikonov) that provide a glimpse into how we are living through this transformation and the digitalization of our lives and industry.

The exhibit will be open to visitors in Moscow until 3 June 2018. Part of the exhibit will then be presented to participants of the international industrial exposition INNOPROM in Ekaterinburg in early July this year. This autumn the exhibit will open at the Zollverein Coal Mine Industrial Complex in Essen, and in October it will be shown as part of Russia Day celebrations in the federal state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, at the Rostock Art Gallery.

Just like the digital transformation process, the exhibit is designed to be a living and constantly developing project. For example, throughout the current year the new works of different German and Russian artists will be presented. The focal point of the exhibit in Moscow will be the structure of industry and industrial culture in the 20th century.

The exhibition has been organized with the support of the federal state of Mecklenburg-West Pomerania, the Industry Development Fund, the German-Russian Forum, the Wismar Eastern Institute, and the international law firm Beiten Burkhardt
