Workshops

In addition to its studios, the Institute offers several workshops in which students can work both under supervision and independently with almost all materials. These workshops promote and secure practical art training by providing special opportunities for work and expression. Students must take part in a workshop tutorial to be able to use the workshops independently. The certificate to confirm participation in the tutorials can be acquired in the corresponding seminar offers (see self-service portal). The workshops can be used outside of usual opening hours by prior arrangement with the respective contacts.

Media Lab

The Media Lab has high quality and diverse equipment that enables students to work with a broad range of formats in the following areas: video and internet art, film and animation, digital photography, digital printing, 3D scanning and 3D printing as well as multimedia installation. Modern studios for the creation of audiovisual media as well as a modern 3D production line including computer workstations are available to students at all times.

Note: recording equipment and accessories (cameras, microphones, tablets, monitors, projectors, etc.) can be borrowed by students at any time if required.

Graphics Workshops

The graphics workshops provide equipment for various processes required for artistic and technical teaching. The workshop makes it possible to experiment with a broad spectrum of printmaking with equipment for screen printing, relief and intaglio printing and lithography. Students can borrow screens in various sizes, tools and materials and use squeegees, screen printing tables and technical equipment for their artistic projects. The main focus of the students' printmaking work is less on the aspect of multiplication and more on research into individual approaches and modes of expression.
